Apologies if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it!

Does anyone have any good and cheap cleaning tips for (a) toilets with limescale and (b) carpets with tea / coffee stains?

Many thanks!

For carpets, I make up a strong solution of bio washing powder and hot water - works a treat and costs pennies :)

Ooo thank you that was really quick. I will give that a try - my poor old carpet is looking a little sad lately!

Do you scrub the carpet with a brush and how do you get the soap out?

I use a solution of white vinegar and washing up liquid diluted with water and put in a spray bottle to clean my loos and they are sparkling.
If the lime scale is bad then Harpic is very good
We recently had a new carpet fitted and the carpet fitter said to put just water on the stain and then cover with kitchen roll and bang not rub to get the water out. He said to try this over several days. I also read somewhere that soda water is good, the co2 apparently lifts out the stain. Once again bang don't rub!

We live in a flat, god knows what the neighbours think! But it does work, the water and stain come out and because you don't rub the carpet isn't damaged.
