Hi
new to this and basically owe £53,000 in unsecured debt and after paying essentials each month dont have much left (massive drop in take home has brought about my demise.)
Have spoken to insolvency.co.uk and they have advised IVA and not bankruptcy due to me being a police offficer.
I have heard about bobbys going BR and keeping their jobs but any thoughts on here?
I am currently awaiting advice from my Fed Rep re this and also an appointment with welfare.
Thanks

First of all, please make sure that you speak to National Debtline, CCCS or Payplan before you decide what to do. These people are free as they are charities so will not push you towards doing something for the fee if there is an alternative that would suit you. Their numbers are at the top of these boards I think.
Secondly, put everything down on paper and post an SOA on here (State of Affairs - see SouthernScousers sticky at the top of these threads) and we will see if there is anything you can do to ease the pressure. Put as much info in as you can.
Good luck, and keep posting. You will get loads of advice and support here.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I would echo Hypno's advice
I have a few relatives who are police officers,I was of the understanding that going bankrupt can affect your ability to do all aspects of the job? don't do anything without getting advice first.
