Copying from several CDs to one

I'm not technical at all and need some help. I have a lot of CDs and want to make new CDs mixing tunes from all the originals.
I already copy CD to CD using Roxio. Can I use it to do this too?
I also use Itunes but would prefer not to use it for this project.
Thanks for any help.

You'd likely need to 'rip' each CD before you can shuffle the tracks about. Apple's iTunes supports ALAC - a lossless format - which will result in better audio quality than a CD>MP3>CD conversion.
First things first though: are you using Mac OS or Windows?0 -
Thank you for the reply. Please be aware that I am very technically challenged!
I use windows.0 -

Guides: If you can't see the Edit menu, press Ctrl+B on your keyboard.0 -
If you have windows media player you can copy (rip) individual traks to your pc then make a disc from these.

Thank you Norman. I will check this out. It looks easy enough as it's for dummies! Will let you know how I get on.
Also thank you Tanglefoot. However, this means using Itunes (I think) which will be my Plan B if I need it.
Thanks a lot to you both for taking the time to help.0 -

Something to note: WMP uses WMA (lossy) by default. Alternate instructions for Windows 7 users can be found here.0 -
I'm now part way through loading my CDs to WMP. I will then create playlists and burn new ones hopefully.
Thank you all once again for the help and links given.0
