26.4.07 what small dfw/mse thing will you do/have you done today!

Options
Hello!

We all know that the big changes can make an instant difference to our finances, eg cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky or the gym membership.

But once we have done all the bigger stuff it is sometimes hard to realise that we are still doing DFW stuff each and every day! They may be small things but they are so important!

So, be proud of those small steps that you are taking today and let us all know what you are doing to help you become Debt Free :D

So today(and yesterday after I posted!) I have/will be:

- sending everyone to school and work with packed lunches
- have changed my mobile contract to a cashback one
- have changed my TV licence to monthly instead of annually
- have listed something new on ebay
- will re-list some stuff on amazon
- will have storecupboard lunch and dinner
- try for a NSD
- will do my banking

Have a good day everyone x

Good morning everyone. Had a major DFW/MSE morning........

Well had a sleepless night last night, was paid yesterday and got a tough month ahead of me, thought I'd have to defrost the credit cards (something I really didn't want to do). Started to do some lateral thinking DFW way and thought of ways to cut back. I currently have 2 mortgage protection policies one with the Halifax for £61 per month (the old one) and the new one with HSBC for £11 per month. Wrote to the Halifax a few weeks ago giving them 30 days notice to cancel my policy, just telephoned them to confirm that they have received my letter and decided to try my luck and ask if it could be cancelled today (to avoid paying the last £61 on 1st May) and they said yes - RESULT.

So I'm £61 better off already. Have cancelled the DD before they change their mind :)

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Today I:
    * have agreed to do a 2.5 hrs in 2nd job this afternoon to cover for mate

    * will send off info re: deferring payment of student loans
    * will complete and post back (another!!!) CRB application for 2nd job on contracted hours
    * have checked online banking and moved a bit of money around to necessary places!
