I would like to try a cheesecake recipe which uses gelatine.I plan on substituting the gelatine with agar-agar as I 'm a vegetarian.I just wondered if anyone used this before and had any pointers.Thanks.

Why not just use a baked cheesecake recipe which doesn't require gelatine in the first place?
I don't have any recommendations as such, but there are lots of online recipes - just google "Baked Cheesecake".Avoiding plastic, palm oil, UPF and Nestlé0 -

Thanks, the mango cheesecake looks lovely.I already have quite a few cheesecake recipes using gelatine.Have you never actually used agar-agar?
The one that I want to try is a lemon and ginger one.
I'll let you know how it goes.0 -

I've made quite a few baked cheesecakes already and fancied trying something new.
The best baked cheesecake recipe that I've come across is Mary Berry's Austrian Curd Cheesecake. It's a flourless cake with lovely, delicate flavours.0 -
I personally find agar quite temperamental and have only had success in recipes that actually specify it in the first place.
Could you use vegetarian gelatine instead? Cheaper too!0 -

I wasn't aware that you could get vegetarian gelatine.Who's it by please?I also don't live in the UK,which means it's unlikely I could get hold of some.0 -

Vegetarian gelatine is agar. You can buy it as vegegel. Dr Oetker makes it.0 -
