As a student years ago, I would spend a lot of money on music manuscript paper. Despite having less 'ink' on the page than regular lined paper, it cost more than twice as much.

Today, revising my studies some 12 years later, after the internet revolution, I discovered;

You can also get free maths paper(graph paper , isometric dot paper etc )from the followign web-site http://www.mathsphere.co.uk/resources/MathSphereFreeGraphPaper.htm

which is very useful when your dd/ds runs out half way thorugh a project. It is very difficult to find to buy.
