Need Money Fast To Pay Debts Help!!!!!

Have this in the Loan forum as well but got told to post in here as well

Hi

We are in a bit of financial trouble and have been for some time now, but the wife and I have tightened our belts and cut a lot of our out goings right down. But this is still not good enough and we still need a little bit of cash and fast to pay off these last out-standing bills including rent. All we need is a good £600.

We have been looking at payday loans but can not afford them but we have seen loans that last for 12 months which will be more manageable but all of them want an upfront brokers fee or want a guarantor which no one is willing to do.

I know that doing something like this for a couple of hundred of pounds sounds a bit drastic but like I have said we have stopped our spending big time even at christmas we didn't spend much at all.

We just want all the stress of the phone calls and letters to go away now but as we have bad credit we cant get a simple mainstream loan and we have already used our overdraft.

So if anyone can recommend a great instant loan for people with bad credit please let me know or if you have any ideas to get us out of this hole then that will be most appreciated as well.
Like I said we have already done a lot in 2012 to reduce our bills now we just need this last bit of help PLEASE!!!!!

  • First bit of advice, don't use a pay day loan!

Don't borrow more money to pay off existing debts.

Have you looked throughout your home to see if you have anything of value that you can sell?

  • Talk to HM Revenue, you may be due a tax rebate.

Can either of you do any overtime?

Can you cut back on any luxuries you have, smoking/drinking/bingo?

Can you substitute named brands for supermarkets own brand when shopping?

Sumo!! Do not borrow more if you can really help it.

£600 between two of you... £300 each, can you deliver some pizza's for a while or do a bit of bar work for a while. £600 is really achievable, there will be some great ideas on this site to make a little extra have a look round. And good luck!

  • Have you rung the companies and asked to sort out a suitable payment plan? They can't take what you don't have. Most companies are happy to have something rather than nothing.

  • There's not much to go on here but:

have you spoke to the people you owe money to and sorted out a manageable payment plan. For example you pay rent every month so can you pay a little less this month and more over the next two months.

I have found that creditors get more upset if you don't do what you say so keep them informed even if you are only going to report you are going to be late.

    ok

I will try and talk to these companies who we owe money to again as we have done in the past and yes they have helped us out but they still want a lot and dont budge much on their payments but we will always try again.

As of cut backs we are back to the bare minimum we now shop at aldi instead of sainsburys we dont smoke and dont drink and with the extra work I can do a bit but the wife is on maternity leave with our 3rd child so she cant.

    Any more suggestions??????
  • the first thing you must do is to stop paying money to all unsecured debts like credit cards or store cards etc. They only need £1/month for the time being. You also need to ask them to freeze any interest being added to the accounts.
The next thing to understand is this: 3 bills are musts for payment.
Council tax, TV licence, Rent. Those must be brought up to date as soon as you can. Followed by arrears on Utility bills such as elect/gas/water. Check out www.charis.org and see if there is any help available to clear any arrears with those. Once those are paid for, consider your food bill, use basic or value type products where you can. Batch cook and freeze extra portions up for another day. Buy food at near ends of day that has short expiry, just make sure it is freezable or that you would cook it all at once and batch freeze it. Next tackle insurance for home - contents only needed as you rent, Do you need the extra's that come as standard on some policies - I just pay for content/accidental cover - no legal. Do you need a car and if so can you save money by doing some of the maintenance yourself. Changing bulbs or toping up antifreeze or screenwash and wipers blades are all ways you can save. Shop around for best Car insurance that actually covers your circumstances, make sure job is correct and where you park is same each night. Lots of things can be done by oneself. Instructions are freely available for simple things. We have always done this and saved a fortune over the years. Knowing what an MOT involves and how to pre test the car yourself will lower any end bill no end. Assuming you have that car.
  • Can you do anything for your family/friends? Offer to do their ironing or something? Are you handy with cars or anything like that? Can you be a bit of a handy man for them? Even if it's just cleaning their yard or something?

I know a lot of people can be embarrassed to admit to family/friends that they are in a bit of a finacial situation but can they be of any help?
