Wrong location on parking ticket

Options
I was given a parking ticket on Monday and have noticed that they have written down the wrong road name. They have called in an Ave when in fact it is a Road. As no such "Ave" exists in my borough can I get away with saying that this ticket is invalid?

Probably.Have a look at the website Pepipoo
  • I have looked on there but I can't seem to find anything!
  • I believe all details on parking ticket have to be correct for it to stand. I will try and find a link or something to back this up - will post again if I find something.

Why not write and say "I have never parked in xxx avenue,in fact I dont believe this avenue exists, please check your records."

Send them a polite letter and a copy of the ticket and request they send you details of the parking restrictions that are in place for this XXXX Avenue.

    :D

In this situation and many others I always think "what is the worse that can happen?" it goes to court and you get a pernickety judge? who makes you pay plus the other court costs. If you can handle that then go for it.
are you sitting comfortably?, then I'll begin.....

I agree with Clive Woody and hollydays, or give them a ring and say that you have had a parking ticket for X Ave but have never been there and see what they say. I have just been browising the net and found this link, where a person had a parking ticket with wrong location on it (although the person had parked illegally but wrong location written down) and phoned them up - the person then received a letter admitting the authority had put incorrect information on the ticket and cancelled it.

    Have a look:

Hope this helps. I actually doubt that they could take it to court because of the wrong details on the ticket.
