It sounds like they are touting for business. There seems to be nothing about them if you do a quick google search, which to my mind, is never a good thing.

If they were the registered IFA for any old pension schemes/policies that are in your name, they shouldn't 'offer to bring you up to date', they should send an update as a matter of course.

The vast majority of genuine FSA regulated firms will not cold call. So, that should be the first thing to put you on guard. The second thing is that most cold calls on pensions and investments are scams or unregulated schemes. If you read this section you will see that most people who post that they have been cold called end up finding out it is a scam or an unregulated scheme.

I have checked the FSA register and there is no company with that name on it. So, they are not authorised to complete pension reviews under UK law. The FSA register is updated daily. So, it is a current record.

I also checked companies house and they are showing this company as registered on 21/11/2012. So, it is a brand new set up.

It could be that they are setting up with the FSA and are not authorised yet but FSA authorisation is black and white. You either are or are not authorised to give pension advice. There is no pending option.

So, at of this moment, you should not use them for the reasons above. If you want a pension review then use a local IFA of your choosing. Not a random cold call and especially not one that is unregulated (so no consumer protections)
