Since joining MSE, i have:
* Reduced my phone bill from £100+ a month, to just £35
* Made over £1000 on ebay
* Joining Moozie's weekly budget thread i've spent a lot less daily
* Reclaimed bank charges
* Paid off debt
* Started to put more money into savings per month
* Have a totally different perspective on how i handle my money
I'm in no real debt, maybe a couple of hundred on my card, although i pay that off at the end of the month. I come on here as the people are inspirational, i want to save more, reduce my daily/weekly/monthly outgoings and to do that this seems the right place to be0 -
Thats fantastic news lynz. I bet your so proud of yourself.

I have absolutely no idea why i said that but wish me luck anyways :rotfl:
........so why did you have a fan on your leg ?? At least that's where the sh$t would land if it was near me and i'd end up getting the most reuturned,lol.......

For me the best thing about discovering DFW was realizing that I am not alone.
Constant phone calls and letters from creditors was affecting my mental health - I grew tired of explaining again and again why I couldn't meet their payments. I have learned how to deal with bullying creditors from other DFW.
I have learned that there is no shame in not being able to pay back debts through no fault of my own. (NHS cutbacks etc etc)
I joined Quidco and got £75 cashback when I renewed my home contents insurance.
I have more or less halved my shopping bill by buying Asda smart price stuff instead of brand names.
I have reduced my phone bill by getting friends and family who are on free evening call tariffs to call me back straight away when I rang them.
And I discovered that you can get irons. hand blenders, food mixers etc for around a fiver if you shop around.
And I came across CCCS through this site. I would never have found them were it not for the DFW forum.0
