How can I care for my damaged hair?

Good quality hair masque and SMOTHER your hair completely in it, and then put on a disposable shower cap. Wear a woolly hat over the top to keep the heat in your head and leave this on as long as possible (have a house day or do it overnight!)
I've always done this using the Aussie 3 minute miracle and it has rescued by hair from a few home created disasters, including one where I left bleach on my hair for too long and it went really weird and stretchy and then broke off right near the root in places)
When you wash your hair do it gently and DONT rub your hair with a towel, pat it dry or leave a towel wrapped around your head and if you use a blowdryer don't start until your hair is feels nearly dry. Use plenty of heat protect spray and/or serum when using heated appliances too.Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -
I found my hair started to fall out and began snapping when I brushed it, so I bought some Mega Vitamins for Hair from Holland and Barrett - http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=101&prodid=271&cid=241.
My hair was ten times stronger within a few weeks. I would definitely recommend them.0 -
I had been using Wella Brilliance and I've recently found my hair has become terribly dry and damaged at the ends (as a result of my FHI's - prefer them to GHD's!).
A hairdresser friend of mine recommended the Avon Argon Oil range. I was a bit sceptical of it being a cheapish product but it was on offer so thought might as well have a go! Anyway, i have used it a could of times alongside their 3D damage repair and my hair looks like someone else's!! It's like silk!!
My hair is very fine and flyaway too. A few of the reviews on the Avon site suggest you can get build up so I plan on using a clarifying shampoo every 6 weeks or so to counteract that.0 -
Do you use a heat defence product that protects your hair when you're actually blow-drying and straightening it? - I've found tresemes' (sp?) very good. Also, buy and use decent conditioner, I love Aveda hair resuce but it's pretty pricey. Hot oil treatments are cheaper and work well too!0

My hair was only slightly dry and I used elvive smooth intense with Arran oil and thermo protect. It was brill!
My hair is now no longer dry enough to need it after just 2 uses but I'm sure it will get dry again in the summerNo more unnecessary toiletries Feb 2014 INS: 24 UU: 13. Mar 2014. INS: lost count, naughty step for me! UU: 80 -
wow , lots of good suggestions on this post.
My hair was long , thick , coarse and very dry. I use aussie shampoo , conditioner and once a week aussie 3 min miracle. i also have regular cuts as it cuts off any split ends. also when i use a heat protector spray i spray then let it dry in for a min or so as the straightners sizzle the hair as the heat spray is damp.0
