Mincemeat bargains in Sainsburys

I found some real bargains on jars of mincemeat today in Sainsbury's -
10p per jar for the standard mincemeat, 15p for the larger jar and 30p for the tub. Also Taste the Difference mincemeat with Cassis at 15p a jar. Sell-by date of November 2013 so should be fine for next Christmas mince pies.

Lots of Christmassy type cake and bun decorations too at 75% off. I got some chocolate stars as they would be ok for topping buns all year round.

All of the mincemeat was available in the Shires, Leamington.

Plus Chocolate stars @ 13p (12pk),
chocolate cherubs 12pk @ 13p
chocolate spiders 12pk @ 5p

A very limited number of gifts at 70% off were still there.

sold out in my local now although they had some a few days ago. I got the Cassis one to try.

I got the mincemeat in cassis for 15p this morning - hadn't seen it before & the checkout operator said that they didn't have it in before Christmas, so I'm guessing it's come from a larger store or the warehouse is supplying it to all stores for the sale. I can't wait to try it it

Yes, its more something you would add to say a sparkling wine to make it sweeter.

Some 9 days after my original post, Keighley branch still had loads of all sizes and varieties. Last year's after-Xmas reductions of mincemeat flew off the shelves in no time. Isn't anybody baking any more?! I noticed in Home Bargains yesterday that they still had jars of the Duerre's mincemeat with chocolate left too. I used some of that to make large lattice tarts and loved it!
