Hi, basically, have asked for a tax refund. Does anyone know roughly how long you seem to wait for a decision? I sent it 3 wks ago & there have been a few probs with the post in my area lately. Should i be concerned? thanx

It normally takes 4 to 6 weeks for any refund to be issued providing your tax office has all the information it needs. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

No harm in calling the tax office to find out its status. Have NI number ready as a reference.Today is the first day of the rest of your life0

Hi,
As said before normally takes 4-6 weeks but in some offices (the one i work in, we have a backlog of post back to beginning of Feb so would take considerably longer).
Give HMRC a call, they'll be able to give you a rough guide to timescales.0
