the bottom left section of the screen (about a sixth of the whole screen) is darker than usual. The picture is viewable through it but it's pretty annoyingTimmay!0

Give this guy a ring, I have found him to be reliable & honest. They say size isn't important but if you have a back projection telly it won't be the easist to move!

just came across this post, i have used cregagh electronics (mentioned above) as well and they were very good. hope you can get it sorted, newer tellys are a lot harder to fix0

my telly keeps turning itself off and going into standby mode.anybody any ideas what could be wrong and if it will cost much to repair?
thanks0 -
As thetope says earlier newer tellys go into standby when a fault is detected which can be a number things - going into standby is a protection device to stop further damage. Ring Cregagh Electronics and he will probably be able to hazard a guess by the make and model.Dave0

It also occurrs when signal is lost from your source (such as your sky box going into sleep mode) but I'm assuming you are watching some when this usually happens, so unlikely to be your fault.0 -
Is it a JVC?0

No a Thompson about 5 years old. Funny seems to be allright while teletext subtitles are kept on.0
