Nielsen Consumer Panel

Options
I've just been accepted for the Nielsen consumer panel and will be sent my scanner very soon to scan my products I buy when grocery shopping.
Has anyone else been accepted onto this panel?
I don't understand which benefits I get for doing this. They haven't explained this at all, except they mentioned something about points? Can someone in the know comment please?!
Thanks, Hanna

I didn't know these guys did a consumer panel.

I am a member of shopandscan though. I think it's run either by TNS or Kantar panel...

Either way, I got £10 amazon voucher when signing up, and then every week, just for scanning products and sending them in I got 1100 points. If I sent in pictures of receipts I got a further 500 points.

You need 10,000 points for £10. So if you simply stick with the scanning and not the receipts it'll take you 10 weeks.

Payout was very quick. I'm still a member of the panel. It does lose it's charm after a while, but it doesn't take much effort and I like my amazon gift cards. And very rarely they send you a survey to complete for 1000,3000 points. Plus at chistmas time they triple the points for 2-3 weeks.

But this is all for ShopandScan and not neilson. I'd suggest googling it for reviews.
  • Yeh i am shopandscan also so same as above. I think nielsen is where you earn points to get items like save enough points and you can earn a book or a pen etc rather than gift vouchers.

  • Just today I have received the scanner! I have a friend in my home country using it for a few years now and she is happy about the rewards, after a while I guess will be quite bored, but it is not a big efford

I recently got a phone call about it a month or so after doing the initial survey.
