Hello there - does anyone have any tips for getting the underneath of my daughter's white socks clean - I usually put them on a 60 degree white wash but it doesn't get them clean. I use non-bio washing powder - is this the problem. thanks in advance

I think bio powder might make a difference, you could also try putting some washing soda into the wash too. There's also the even more MSE of putting them on the line for a few days in the sun.
As a one off you could chuck them all in a wash with some glo-white, that brings up whites really well.
Hope that helps.0 -
Hi Melb, I had this problem yesterday with DD's socks and school shirts!! I used half of my normal bio powder in the drawer and then threw about half a teacup of soda crystals into the drum and then washed them on 60 degree cycle. Did my white towels as well, The whole lot came out gleaming white and the socks now look brand new!!Marriages are made in heaven, but then again so is thunder and lightning!!!.....getting divorced lol :j

Failing all that, boil in a pot with some lemon juice in the water. If you think reality makes sense, you're just not paying attention!0

Have you tried putting them in a bucket of soda crystals and water and then when you want to wash them all take out bucket and wash in your normal powder, I have a daughter who loves walking round with no shoes(and she is 12!) outside, failing that, a bar of fairy soap or vanish rubbed on the soles of the socks usually worksto be updated:;)0

I regularly do my kids undies & socks in a boil wash ! It certainly works when the socks are filthy & it's never shrunk any of them yet (touch wood)0

Primark sell these so cheaply that sometimes it`s worth ditching them and buying new! 50p a pair or less!
I do agree with all the previous posters but some things arent worth it!0 -
Thanks so much for all suggestions - I've found an even better one which is navy blue socks (only kidding!)0
