No supermarket shopping since Christmas Eve

I'm just so proud of myself, I had to come and blow my own trumpet!

Having overspent on Christmas groceries, as usual, I have made a concerted effort to avoid going to the supermarket. We are now down to the last loaf out of the freezer, so I'm having to be creative with lunches, but the kids love buffet meals. Luckily my sister has replenished the milk supplies, so I didn't have to do my normal 'pop in for a bottle of milk and then spend 20 quid!'

I'm now working on a meal plan for the whole month of January, no budget as yet, but I'm going to order online to avoid the temptation of so called bargain offers.

I can't remember the last time I avoided a supermarket for more than a week, how sad is that?

2013 is the year I finally get organised! Budgets, meal plans, clean laundry, tidy house...the whole works...look out OS here I come!

I am right there with you on the 'getting organised' front - we spend too much on food because of my lack of planning ahead .... all that is going to change this year! Planning is definitely the key - and I'll be doing the same as you and shopping online to stop myself overspending :D

I reckon that with just a few staple ingredients we can live from our cupboards and freezer for most (if not all) of January! That's my target!

Good luck Tibbie's Mum ... Happy New OS Year :T
