P.s. I notice that you can "thank" people underneath their replies, I am clearly quite new to this and don't know how to do this otherwise I would for every reply that I have got!
But thank you all!
I am now in a process of writing a looooooong complaint letter to Barclays!0 -
Short ones are far more effective.startlight wrote: »I am thinking about writing up a long complaint letter to Barclays when I find time because that first phone call I had with them was unacceptable! You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
There's a row of blue buttons below each post, one of these is labelled "Thanks".startlight wrote: »P.s. startlight wrote: »I do suspect that Barclays knew something was wrong with my last debit card. Because my old debit card was only issued December 2011 and wasn't due to expire until 2014 and towards end of November/start of December just gone they had contacted me saying they are sending me a new debit card to prevent fraud which I thought was a bit strange sending me a new card out of the blue?
No that is a upgrade of the contactless system on their cards.startlight wrote: »And on the phone today the Barclays person said those funds were something to do with my old card and said he is going to cancel my old card - which surely that should have already been cancelled seeing as I already had a new one for just under a month?
Old card will still have been active for 30 days after you got your new card.startlight wrote: »Luckily the funds were back in my account after around 3 hours! This happened to me, my bank stopped the payment and refunded my account. I spoke with wonga fraud team and their reply was you are not the only one to be de-frauded we have also been too in this transaction.....
Luckily the banks are helpful , they cancelled my card and issued me a new one.... Job done

Companies like Sponga attract the scum of the earth and with that scum comes fraud, deciet and assorted tomfoolery.
Barclays should be ashamed if that's what they told you."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0
