I have a roadbike. Since i bought it I have probably done 500 miles, but now i would like to check distances, aggregate mileage and speed. I am willingly to pay approx £30 . Has anyone got some recommendations for either wireless or standard? Need one quite sturdy too, against inclement weather. Any Advice much appreciated!

I know it's £65, not £30 but I'd recommend this if you are able to spend the difference.0 -
Try the Specialized SpeedZone computer, which also has a cadence function. I bought the red version last year and everything is fine.
Having a cadence function is good for training.0 -
Do you have a smart phone?
If so I use an app called Endomondo, which tracks all that via gps and ties up with google maps on your pc to show routes etc. I have my phone in a waterproof holder attached to my arm.
The basic version is free.0 -
My Tesco one will do all the things you listed - for under a tenner.

There are a few seller/cycle shops on ebay selling a recent perfectly usable Raleigh one for around 6-7 delivered.0

I now use this Endomondo App and it is linked to my Facebook page so you can track you fittness ETc By graph and list also,it also shows the route you took for that ride or walk ETC.Spending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0 -
An alternative to endomondo is strava. Works very well on my outdated phone and can be used to track your improvements and times against other riders.
Would not go back to a simple bike computerWhen cycling, I pay the same road tax as any other zero carbon emission vehicle.0 -

This! :cool2:
I've used the free app for the last 18 months. It's great and if you want a little more , then you can log in to their website to gain additional info on your ride, ie altitude, etc.
I've thought about upgrading to PRO, for the heart rate link/info, but for the price it makes more sense to buy a specific bike computer.0 -
I use mapmyride phone app as that was the first one that came up when I searched! Do Strava/Endemondo add anything that I should consider?0
