Vegas theme night at home?

Hi all,
Wondered if any of you had done this?
It's my boyfriends birthday soon and thought this might be a good idea as he didn't want a party and we were going to go to Las Vegas but his jobs at risk.
I've seen a few party banners and things on eBay.
We have a reasonable size house and I could do a few games like poker but I'm stuck for ideas on the rest and stuck for food and drink ideas too!
Any suggestions and help are greatly appreciated

That's a brilliant idea.
Are you quite creative? and do you have much time? could make your own vegas themed decorations. I had a themed party and made giant painted cardboard cutouts of 80's cartoons (80's themed party) everybody said they were brilliant and saved me a fortune.
First things that spring to mind when you think of casinos are slots machines, but obviously not gonna be easy to replicate that at home! so perhaps focus on card games (poker, blackjack etc), set up several tables with different games on, plenty of poker chips for gambling, maybe monopoly money?
Drinks - anything goes really, you get free drinks in Vegas when gambling, generally if we asked for a beer they gave us budweiser... but there isn't really a 'vegas' drink.
Food - american themed?SPC 2013 #188420p Savers Club 2013 #54:xmassmile Make £5 a day Dec '12: £150/£155 :xmassmile0 -
I am very creative but I get rather carried away and need someone to rein me in which is why I'm a little worried!! Ha x0

Happy new year all
Argos Texas Hold 'Em Poker Set £3.99 down from £17.99
Just having a look around and saw this Texas Hold 'Em Poker Set at Argos for £3.99. Have managed to reserve myself one, so not another phantom great price but none in stock anywhere, well not for me anyway! Hopefully other places are the same.
Thought this was a great price for the set, even if you don't play poker the chips can be used for almost any 'gambling' games fun or serious

We're having a casino night in Feb to get the family together, done it last year had a great time. Everyone started out with £100 (fake money of course lol) we had games such as roulette, blackjack, poker, and for the young kids higher/lower etc so they could get involved and the winner was the person with the most money at the end.
Everyone dressed up too in their glitzy stuff to add to the theme it was s great night!
A fun way to do the 'slot machine' is to have a human slot machine! All you need are 3 people sitting at a table. between them have some kind of divide so none of them can see each other - maybe fashion something out of large pieces of cardboard from a big box from the supermarket if you ask nicely i'm sure they'll give you one. Decorate it if you wish. Then each person has say 5 items (banana, lemon, apple etc - the kinds of things you have in a fruit machine) and as the 'player' pulls the imaginary handle (or you could make a lever for them to pull) in turn each member of the slot machine holds up a fruit at random. You can make a list of winning combinations. We had so much fun doing this!28/04/11 - A bad day for shoppers everywhere (Tesco shoppers that is!) RIP DTD :A0 -
vagas sounds like a great theme.
i was at a party recently where we gambled with chocolate coins. fun any yummy lol. you might get some in the sales.0 -
Food wise, you could go with a Tex-Mex theme buffet, plenty of tortillas, taco shells and lots of different fillings.0

Could you rig up some faux Bellagio fountains?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
