pension provider

Hi
I am new to this forum. I want to join a private pension, I am 48 years old. Any recommendations of providers? Any advice is appreciated.
Many thanks
Jay

    Any recommendations of providers?

That is a regulated activity and not allowed. It wouldnt be possible to give you an answer anyway as its a bit like asking "I want a vehicle, what shall a buy". We dont know enough to give an answer.

We can comment and discuss but not recommend. what are you looking for, how are you looking to invest, how are you looking to buy, how much is involved?

It's also difficult to recommend anything to someone at age 48 (presumably with no other pension in place).

What a presumtion and a completely bogus statement.

    Not really. presumption has 2 p s I think.

If one gets to 48 w/o a clue as to what a pension is now and where to go it might be a good assumption. But I digress.

48 is time enough to save for retirement, and save thru a tax efficient pension.

but we need to know, the OPs employment, if a company pension is now or will soon be available, any previous retirement savings in a pension or not, their family ie do they have a spouse or other dependents, own their home w/or w/o a mtg, if they have cash savings of 6 months spending (in cash isas or not) or any other equity investments (incl S&S isas).

Even though advice here is of a non regulated variety, we do try to at least be slightly factually accurate.
  • Thank you all for your replies. My situation is, I came to the UK in 2011. I have contributed NI since but have not had a private pension. The company I work for will contribute £150 per month for a private pension. So I have to find a provider. I will be grateful for any advice.
    Thanks
    Jay
