Hurry up 2013! Debt free year finally!

I have been paying my debts for 6 yrs now, went from near enough £17k down to £2k in this time and this last little bit seems so far away yet so near!!
My CCCS plan is due to end in Oct of this year, but im hoping to do alot of cutting back and as much overtime at work as i can to get it paid off before the summer holidays, Means i can enjoy more days out with the kids.

Luckily i have my Daughters birthday in April sorted using Tesco clubcard vouchers for Oakwood. Its just my sons birthday and all the presents :/ Can tell i will be super bargain hunting to save all my pennies :)

Just wanted to have my little thread lol Plus wanted to thank many of you for the interesting threads which have helped me along the way even though i never really post, im a silent lurker most of the time :)

Thank you :) Good luck with your DMP.

Im just having issues with getting creditors to close down accounts. They keep telling me all they can do is freeze it even though its been paid in full. Lloyds being the worse lol.

I won't be fully debt free, but i don't class the mortgage as instant debt. But it will just be a huge weight lifted to have this DMP finalised.

Great stuff, I should be joining you around August/September time. Hopefully August if everything goes to plan but if not September.

You've done a tremendous job, last hurdle left now.

Thank you all, When i started i genuinely didn't see the end in sight. I had Lloyds add on a whole £1k worth of interest and charges before they stopped it all. I still have Barclay card adding interest each month and they have done all the way through :( Some companies have been fantastic to deal with, others a pain!

I am hoping once its all paid i will save the Direct Debit im used to paying for the past 6 yrs and take my little family away as a treat :)

My main target was to get this paid off before my eldest turns 10 as i hoped she wouldn't pick up my debt habits. But she is terrible with money, Spends every penny on stuff she doesn't need or really want! She is 9 so hoping its just the age lol. I grew up around generous parents who put things on the card and paid later. Unfortunatly its how i grew, which is why i want to protect my children from it.

Good luck all, these last months on a DMP seems to exciting lol
