18th Birthday Party Ideas

Hi

Our lovely daughter will be 18 next month and we are holding a party for her and her friends at a small hall. She has decided not to have a theme as such so her dad and l would like to make a photo display of her growing up but not sure what the best way would be to do this.

We also thought it would be nice to put an album together of special photos for each year but want to make it more than just a few photos in an album with a caption under each photo. We also thought that her friends could sign it for her.

Not sure if this is a good idea or not. Has anyone have any ideas on the best way to display photos or to make her a book she will treasure.

Many thanks.

  • For my nieces 21st and my sisters 50th we enlarged a number of photos, mostly embarassing ones and a number with friends and family, laminated them and posted them around the venue, just with blutac . For the MIL 60th my SIL had a wall of shame of embarassing photos, it was one of these display boards used at conferences etc. She also passed a book around the guests to add comments in general.

I am not sure that at 18 if she would appreciate a 'keepsake' but you will know her best? And if makeing a special one with comments it may get ruined being passed around friends?
  • book seems a great idea

Has the hall got a projector you could hook up to a laptop? I went to a wedding where they did this and showed photos of the bride and groom from being babies to adults and then photos of them together from their relationship, it was really cute and hilarious to see them as little kids growing into the people we know today.
