hmmmm debating selling my ipad. i do love it but now i have a quick laptop that works i dont 'need' it. they seem to be selling for around £250 on ebay so whilst its handy, £250 is a lot to have hanging around

i have sold all the cds i bought, not worked out exact amounts but got about 2/3 back on each one :) £25 on its way to my bank now from paypal :j waiting on my cheque for £120 from a ms co to start off my nz funds! cant wait for the fund to start so i can see it grow :A

So decision made... Selling iPad. Got a buyer for £250!:j its a family member I will see in a few weeks so will get money then :) will go in the New Zealand fund :D

£15 weekly spend this week so £25 left. Off to London for the weekend this weekend so I will use the £25 towards that along with £40 of next months weekend budget (had to book train tix for a hen do which were £60 so wiped out this months!).

Got my ms cheque so once its cleared I will have some money in the NZ pot! 7 weeks tomorrow till I go :j

Hmmm so what i thought was the letter with my cheque was actually train tix :( so hoping it will arrive today!

Off work today so plan is-
Strip bed and put clean sheets on
    Wash and dry bedding
    Tidy en suite and bedroom
    Put stew in slow cooker
    Generally tidy up
Go to lidl and natwest (if cheque arrives)
Go to gym at 2 for class then new programme
When I'm back dye hair and put on pj's
Do finger and toe nails. Got a free crackled nail varnish last week so want to try it out. Will do toes 1st in case I don't like
    Sort out eBay complaint :(
Investigate software to clean up comp as want to sell my old laptop with hard drive in (will be changing passwords for online banking), clearing temp files, cookies etc...

so update time. cheque didnt arrive which was v annoying :( finally turned up today but i am not going to be able to get to the bank till thur :(

decided to get new iphone as wanted 32g one. couldnt get a good upgrade deal so p4u have bought me out of my contract and new one is £10pm cheaper and i paid £150 for handset which i hope to sell my current one for. hope new phone arrives by sat then i can take my current one to cex as they seem to offer the most. have just bought 2 bargain cases for £1.99 free postage and a 2nd cable for £2.30 free postage. all coming 1st class so not sure how they make much!

old laptop is in process of sorting for sale. need to get box out of loft. looking on ebay i hope to get maybe £100, fingers crossed :D

really dont know what to do re sky. tesco broadband is a complete joke, there has been an issue with my order and no one updated me. i have phoned twice to be told someone would call me as they couldnt give an update and no one has. such shocking customer service. no idea when or even if i will be connected! sky not contacting me yet to tr and tempt me to stay and cut off on 6 feb. may try and call and say having second thoughts and can they do a deal.

in other news i have injured my arm slipping over. not 100% sure if its fractured but was told no point going to a&e for slight fracture as it will heal in3 weeks and wouldnt get a cast anyway. vv annoying as its scupered my gym plans a bit! will have to focus on leg classes!

    on a v positive note,only 6 weeks 4 days till holiday :D

  • Hi Clippy

Congrats on everything so far .... on the broadband I am in the middle of switching to Plusnet ( seem to hear good things about them !? ). Seem to be some good deals with them at the mo and cashback deals around with the likes of Topcashback and Quidco

You mentioned about your phone not having enough space for music ... You should look at iTunes in the cloud ... you can upload upto 25,000 songs !! . Think there is a annual charge though ( about £20 ) and streaming the songs will use data so only really useful if your connected to wifi .... might be something to consider

    Good luck with everything

thanks cturkleton, i will look into plusnet as i think they were the next cheapest anyway.

i have that at the moment, its called itunes match to put your whole library in the cloud. dont really get on with it though as no matter how many times i connect it still wont complete the upload of my library (some songs arent on itunes so it needs to upload them). its a good idea though especially as so many places have free wifi anyway :)

got an even better deal on my phone as rang vodafone for my code to change number and he matched and knocked £50 off p4u price. got offered another £90 frpm p4u when i rang to cancel but as was only £40 more than voda and would have the hassle of changing number (as i had not requested the code from voda) so stuck with the voda deal. need to pay £100 towards phone but can use money from selling old one.

re old phone it sells for a good £20 more if its unlocked and voda do this for free. they requested the code for me so im waiting for that to come through. hope its not too complicated! will look to take phone to cex on thursday if its sorted or on sat if not. hope for £150 from cex. if not its going on ebay.

brother is currently attempting to wipe laptop so hope to get that listed on 17th. hopefully get around £100 from looking at others on ebay.

i cancelled tesco bb as had still not heard anything. i would def not recommend them! i rang sky last night to see if they would offer me a deal. they informed me my cancellation had not been processed! good job i rang up or i would have been carried on getting charged! i was offered bb, phone and tv for £31 so happy with that as £12 saving. hope they write to me soon with a movie offer but if not i will look into love film again as i have an offer and you can get instant on the wii now.

luckily i had obv just hurt my arm as was better by fri :) so have been gyming away. started the 'no carbs after lunch' idea last mon and lost 3.5lbs in a week! must say im finding it pretty easy to stick to but thats prob because i dont eat carb snacks and i only have a small dinner at 8pm so its not like i need a big meal!

have added up the few things i still need to pay for when i go to new zealand which is around £250. worked out a rough budget of £25 a day which will hopefully be enough as will be making breakfast and lunch in hostel and often some dinners. when we do eat out it will be pubs etc... and whilst we will go out we will not be boozing everynight! so think this seems realistic :) if i stick to that i will need around £825 plus the £250 so around £1100 in total. that is def doable :T i should have around £860 by the day i go and then will get £340 rent few days after i get there. will also be transferring around £400 from my wages a few days after i arrive as that will be left over due to things i dont need to pay for whilst i am away (food, petrol, weekly spends, gym, council tax).

plan is to keep it all in my 'debt' account and withdraw cash from the clarity card. as soon as it is withdrawn i will transfer money using my natwest app when i have free wifi to the clarity card so should result in a cost of a few pence in interest instead of natwests rip off £4 charge. i think i will withdraw a weeks spends at a time like i do at home and if there is any left over i will just get less out the following week or i can use it for another activity if theres anything else i want to do. i am going to try and keep a spending diary on holiday as i normally go mad and seem to fritter so much away on nothing!

v excited now as only 5.5 weeks to go :j
