Anyone used the Body Sculpture Power Trainer (Vibrating thingy) for toning up???

I wondered if anyone had given one of these a try and if so, what you thought of it and whether it worked?

LOL, anything has to be worth a try - I did hear they were the newest things out there to try. How long I'll last on it though is anyone's guess!!

    Hi,
I use one of these a few times a week http://www.johnlewis.com/Sports+and+Leisure/Fitness+Equipment/Fitness+Equipment/+Power+Plates+/2200/230333911/Product.aspx , I wouldn't say it helps tone up, it does help if I have any aching bodily parts, it took me a while to get used to it I hated it at first & felt really ill on it, strange sensation, also the one I use makes such a noise & vibrates through the floor & the area around it even though it's on rubber mats so thats worth keeping in mind if you are having one at home!

I don't think the idea is to spend a long time on them, if you see people on them in a gym looking swaety they are probably using it as a stretch to the end of a hard session!

    Regards

I use one at my gym, great for increasing flexibility and general muscle aches as mini say, BUT, IMO, not for toning and weight loss - just have to tough that out and do it [only] hard way.

Before or after, if you do your stretching on the power plate, the vibration seem to give you a better stretch! Quite good for abdominal work too, but weird sensation...

I know its a bit old this post but came across it from another site so though I would contribute in case any one else was still looking.

I brought my wife a Body Sculpture Power Trainer BM1500 and she has been very happy with it. It was such a bargain as well and doesn't take up much space.

PM me if you would like to know where I brought it as not sure about posting links on here.

    Cheers
    Gary

Power plates are great for toning in my opinion..! Really worked for me. Try a class at a gym or independent to get tips on how to make the most of the exercises
