Illhealth enhancements

Hi,

My father in law took early retirement at 50 (10 years ago) at the time he was beginning to suffer ill health where progressively over the years he is now in the position where he cannot walk.

I was just wondering if it would be worth contacting his pension scheme trustees to see if he could have any enhancements?

Thanks for any help!

John

Assuming that he is already receiving income from his pension then there is no option to get an enhancement due to ill health. Enhancement is only available when the payment rate is set up and only if the ill health reduces life expectancy.
  • It may well be worth looking in to claiming DLA, as there is a mobility element, and is not means tested.
  • Thanks for your help guys.

I think that DLA might already being paid.
