2013 - a fab year in the making!!

Hey one and all, welcome to my new diary. Now I could whinge on here about my previous diaries blah blah blah but hey whats the point lets start on a positive note :D

So 2013 is going to be a very big year for me. Firstly if all goes to plan and I kick my butt into gear I will be debt free :D secondly we will be going on our first family holiday for a very long time and thirdly and most importantly we are getting married in 2013 :D

Now the scary thing is we intend to be debt free and have paid for the majority of our own wedding and the whole holiday ourselves. So this year is one for saving, earning and being as frugal as we can.

So please join me on my journey. Its going to be an interesting one :T

Good luck, hope it all works out for you.
  • My OH is working all weekend this weekend including some lovely overtime so I shall be sitting down this weekend and sorting out all my accounts/finances.

I know I have debt but in all honesty I do not know the total and I definately have made no concerted effort in the last year to reduce it, so this weekend I shall be adding it all up and getting myself a plan!

Had a good chat with the OH the over night and things will get much easier as he has a loan and car finance both which finish this year, its quite scary when you think about it as this will release another £500 a month. So this gives me ever more determination to clear the debts in 2013 as it shows how much we will be able to save in 2014. Our ultimate plan is to clear the debts in 2013 and then save in 2014 in order for us to buy a bigger house.

Have been listing items on Ebay all week and already have some bids which is good, so some nice money coming in towards the debts and wedding. I have lots of stuff I can sell but my problem is I am currently limited to 50 items a week to sell which is a bit of a pin in the bum.
  • Well it has been a good and bad weekend.

On the positive front my parents have agreed to contribute much more to the wedding than we first anticipated, bearing in mind this is my second wedding (unfortunately) I was actually expecting very little help. This has taken a huge weight off of my shoulders and has really taken how much we will need to pay down, which therefore, makes it much easier for us to clear our debts.

On the downside I have had my two nieces all weekend and have spent the weekend enjoying their company. Good thing is no money was spent we played at home and ate at home but this did mean that I did not go through my finances :o so I have packed up all my paperwork to take into work tomorrow to go through in my lunch hour. I will know the total tomorrow!!

On a more positive note I have sold quite a few bits on Ebay tonight and have made about £50 which is fab. Not sure of the exact amount as will depend on the postage etc but definately a good chunk of cash towards the cause.

Have got loads more to Ebay and have also convinced my sister to come to a car boot with me in two weeks, luckily an indoor one. So will be spending the next week or so going through the cupboards and the garage for things to take, mainly those things which I don't think I can ebay. So fingers crossed that will bring a few pennies in as well.

The OH has worked some overtime today, which should bring in around £250 so all in all its been quite a positive day.
