Sofa sales?

Anyone heard of any good furniture sales anywhere between Milton Keynes and North London?
Looking for a 'cheap' hard wearing sofa for myself. Im at home a lot and on the pc a lot sitting on it so when I say cheap I mean durable for about £500, just that kind of money seems to barely get above junk quality in some shops (and I wont buy a sofa that ive not sat on so mail order is out of the question).
Did intend to drop in on Ikea to sit one of theirs, harveys looks unappealing and we have a DFS nearby (appalling furniture**) so thats not one I need to find, but apart from that it seems really flat this year ... or im not looking in the right places...anyone?
**on a related note, what is it about all these cheap end sofas where we cant even take off the cushions to clean or refoam/refresh it at a couple of years old? Dont they cost enough that we have to throw it away when it sags a bit? Just one of my pet peeves about modern furniture
Have been mooching about this for over a year and never found the right style/fit for my place but the times come, a minor spring has gone so its been bumped up the priority list. Thanks a lot for any help.

In the defence of DFS - we had our DFS sofa for 7 years and it lasted very very well, we only bought a new one as a replacement due to fancying a change.
We also have a chair we bought from Ikea which is still going strong after 15 years.
Our latest sofa we bought from Argos - should have been £1400 we got it for £428 ( a 3 seater and 2 seater).0 -
I too must defend DFS. I am a hater of cheap mass produced good, however my DFS sofa is now 12 years old, leather and in good condition......really cannot justify replacement despite wanting to change.......worth a look.....Hello Payday! How are. . Hey where are you going? . . Please don't walk out on me.
. Come back!0 -
If can get to Northampton then go to thesofaking... Amazing deals basically all ex cat/ returns. All on display so see what buying and take a van and can get there and then or fairly cheap delivery.
Google them for address. Also on Facebook for photos Ideas. 2 piece leather suite for £400. Bargain.:beer:Member of Mortgage free in three. :beer:55. littlemonkeywolf. Reduce my mortgage0 -
