    OK, help me.

I have an Ipad 1 64gb wifi and 3g which was bought from new. I also have a 10inch acer laptop.

Ebay indicates I can sell the Ipad for about £180...yet, somehow, I cant...quite...bring...myself to press the goddamned button for sell!!!!!!!

Tell me I should...tell me I'm not mad. Tell me I have a mini laptop that is 10 times faster than a freaking ipad.

HELP!!!! Talk about head and heart!

I think, if I'm only going to go out some point in the near future and replace it, then I shouldn't get rid of it. A new one will cost you more than you got for selling the old one. If you aren't going to replace it, you clearly don't need it, and should press the button!

I'm going to fess to buying myself a few treats (pizza, cava, cake) as I paid off the last of my debt today! I'm looking forward to being in the black, as I think working so hard to get to this point will make me think harder about buying things I don't need, and risking getting back there!

Actually I lied!!! My shopping MINUS the multibuy savings (and yes I will use them ;) ) was £39 - so under £40 - even bloody happier. Any excess that I dont spend out of the shopping budget will get taken out & stashed away as holiday/xmas savings so this month it's hopefully going to be £170 :D

Congrats on the nearly-new arrival FireWyrm. I'm on 'extended' maternity leave at the moment as I got made redundant just before I had DD - trying to eek it out as a) I can't bear to leave her & b) I wouldn't have much left after I'd paid for childcare though not sure what's going to happen in the medium/long term as I need to start earning again....

    You're not helping. :)

The kids actually said they wanted it...

I wont replace it. I have been thinking about what it represents.

    1) pots of paint for the two bedrooms in desperate need of painting
    2) A cot and stuff for little Wyrm
    3) Clothes for the eldest who has absolutely nothing to wear...again.
    4) Half the school uniform bill each year
    5) Clothes for little Wyrm since I have nothing to clothe the poor thing in having ditched all clothes of that size years ago.

    and so the list continues....

This is need not want in reverse. There are lots of things I need but dammit I WANT my beloved Ipad.

Edit : Ok, I just watched one close on Ebay at £220....that tears it.

God, thats not fair. Surely they're not allowed to rob you of your maternity leave like that?!

Well I did just qualify for my maternity pay before the annoucement PLUS redundancy pay, so my mat leave started a month earlier than I'd planned & I've just not gone to find another job as I'm eeking out my redundancy pay. Worked out kinda well really. Normally you'd be protected from redundancy if you're pregnant, but seeing as the whole company were closing there was no choice really!

    2. have gone back to chucking out the fruit and veg 1 whole back £7.75 worth so this week bought a stew pack and oranges and apples only no more
allowed till these are gone .

if I have fruit / veg starting to turn, I freeze it to use later -
    • stew pack, just chuck in the freezer as is (same as those frozen casserole veg).
Root veg - chop into pieces and freeze as is.
      • berries, lay on a tray and freeze so they don't all stick together, then once frozen you can put them in a bag as normal - great for using in pies / crumbles / cakes / smoothies etc.
      • bananas - peel and freeze in freezer bags - again great for cake, smoothies or I've been told some people just eat them like banana-ice lollies.
      • apples / pears and the like - I stew and then freeze in little pots to warm up and have in the winter for pudding

Just a few ideas for you.

After a small tussle with myself over needs versus wants. I have put the Ipad on Ebay.

Rather serves me right since I bought two in the first place on a credit card intending to sell them and ended up keeping one instead.

The kids are 6 and 8. They have been allowed to use it under supervision, but I never truly had any intention of letting them keep it.
