Cakelovers 2013 Money

Hi All

I haven't been on for a while, as it usually goes I am on here religiously then I slowly end up not coming back! But, 2013 I am looking to pay off debt and save money for a house, holiday and a hen party (not mine yet)!

All in all, I want to get to about £9000. This will cover the debt paying off, the holiday and hen party, and some money in the bank to put towards moving.

My SOA is as follows:

Rent: £130
Food: £150
Gas: £20
Electric: £20
TV Licence: £7
Contents Insurance: £3
TV: £30
Water and Sewarage: £20
Boiler Insurance: £7
£26.00 This comes out but I can't remember what for. Basically I pay my OH £412.86 a month and that covers the above plus something else but we can't think what it is till we get his spreadsheet from work).
Petrol: £70
Car Insurance: £34.03
Car Savings: £40
Contacts/Boots Eye Care: £21.50
Mobile: Average £40 but contract is £37
Gym: £49 (tied in to a contract)
Spotify: £9.99 (use for the gym)
OH magazine Subscription I got him: £3.64

Total = £681.02
Monthly Wage = £1231.28 (this may change soon as my student loan should be coming out).
Left over for debt and anything else: £550.26

Debt I have currently allocated various amounts per month depending on if I need to put more money towards the car, birthdays, Christmas etc.

I need to get myself more organised for earning extra cash and the following things are what I am looking at (some things I've done before but need to get back in to the swing of it):

Selling things
£2 coin savings
Mystery Shopping
Surveys
Selling cakes (have a business set up but not done a lot else about it)
I will look at other things too, need to get organised.

If anyone has any tips or suggestions it would be much appreciated. I'm not that good at keeping up with diaries but I will give it a go. My new years resolution is to be more organised so maybe this will help with that?.

Thanks

  • The first amount paid towards the £9000 has been made - £32.20 to my credit card.

Over the past couple of days I have been sorting out some MS'ing stuff, finding the best deal for our holiday and doing some reading on here. Also found some coins for the piggy bank :)

  • A little production last night and today. Transferred one of my CC balances to another CC. Did think about getting a loan however the interest on the loan would have been £350 compared to a balance transfer fee of £40 ish - no brainer really!

Have also bought our flights to Turkey this year and paid off some of it with money we got for Christmas. I've only put my half in my sig.
We are going in September so will pay off the flights over the next pay day and then I have a while to save money. We are going to my OH's aunts hotel and she isn't charging us for the hotel!

Hope everyone is getting on well.

  • Have got a few things money and non-money wise done since yesterday, including sorting some DVD's to send to Music Magpie. Only about £3.75 for about 11 DVD's but every little helps towards my target and it's more free space in the flat.

I think this should also be my get organised and get off my butt diary. My new years resolution is to be more organised but I think I should also have another of stop procrastinating! So today I have also sorted out my 2013 calendar and diary, ordered some things I need for OH's sisters wedding cake I am doing in March (which when I get I will do some trials), done some washing, and I will do some more things today. I have been off work since new years and I haven't done as much as I wanted, which I am a little annoyed with myself about, but it has been nice to chill, so I shouldn't be too hard on myself.
