I bought lots of sprouts for xmas. We have all been under the weather so have not even touched them. I wondered if you can freeze cooked Brussel Sprouts. I have frozen fresh ones but was not keen on the results.

I reckon you could just boil them for a few mins then rinse in cold water to stop them cooking and freeze once completely cold. I did this with surplus green beans from the garden in the summer. If the sprouts aren't that good once defrosted and re-boiled you could use them in soups or casseroles of make bubble and squeak with them0

You can freeze them easily if you do what Savingmonkey says. I grow my own, and when I freeze them, I trim them, then make sure to divide them into batches of similar size so when I blanche them, I go on size - 3 mins for small ones up to 5 mins for large ones. I have found that small to medium tend to taste better. It's then important to cool them quickly, then make sure you get as much water as possible off them (I put them from the iced water into a collander to drain, then give them a final pat dry with a cloth). They keep for months. Another thing is that you can actually keep fresh sprouts for over 2 weeks in a fridge if you pout them in a plastic bag with air holes in it.0
