Countdown to retirement.... oh dear

  • Not done very much today... had a little op on Wednesday so feeling a bit sore and tired but not too bad.

Made a bit of a boo boo when calculating what we can save this month........ totally forgot that I have 2 DS's with birthdays, one last weekend and one this weekend. They're not children but I do like to celebrate even if only in a small way. The youngest (19 tomorrow) will get some money and I've bought vegan cake for him. Apart from that he'll go out with mates so no trouble really. Just £60 down :rotfl:

It's getting towards the end of our financial month so the shopping pot's looking a bit empty. We have £22 to last 9 days. Should be doable as it's only for fresh stuff.

In other news I've filled in my application for the college course. It's going to cost £1600  BUT it's eligible for a 24 plus learning loan. More student debt but not sure what else to do about it. I don't want to use my savings and I need the qualification for the long term so it seems the most cost effective way of doing it.

Will definitely have a NSD tomorrow as I don't have any money :D It's Festival week here so lots of free stuff going on.

Might even get round to ebay listings at some point, could do with the financial boost!

Late breakfast and cake already eaten.... gotta love birthdays!

I've updated my sig too. Decided that student debt doesn't really count as debt in a way. I know I owe it but it doesn't have to be paid till my income reaches a certain amount and then it's taken before I see it ~ therefore, I can safely ignore it for now.

I've added together my little pots of savings and put the total in my signature to spur me on. I know we're gonna need a cooker at some point and I'll need to take some money out for business start up expenses but having a chunk saved makes me believe we can do it. 10k by September 2015:eek:

Our total income for 3 adults is 1800 per month net. So after rent, council tax, bills, food etc etc we're doing well to be saving 300-400 a month. Needs to be more though so will carry on seeing what I can sell/make..... plenty of ideas on here.

Out for a wander in a bit... wish there was more cake!

  • Afternoon :)

NSD yesterday so all good. Not so today :( Not very MSE but I only like corsodyl toothpaste (£3.99 a pop) and I'd run out! Also spent a couple of quid in the pound shop on stuff I could probably have done without.....

It's peeing down here now so a bit miserable. I'm really just on a countdown to the 20th so money can be transferred to the savings and the new financial month can begin..... I'm soooo impatient:rotfl:

Need to do a couple of hours of my course or I'll start to fall behind. Found someone to do my website but still researching stationery, I want to use local people as much as possible.... so much to think about and organise.

Still got that paperwork staring accusingly at me... guess I'd better get on with it :D
