  • thanks irishjohn, yip his job is going well so far so i hope that lasts. yeah, this year has been tough enough but hopefully 2013 is better, we could do with a break! a wee holiday wouldn't go amiss at this stage but that'll not be happening! There's a lot to be said for being able to answer the door/phone/open letters wthout worrying what they bring.

    Hi Mrswallace,
The same happened to me with my business rates.
We fell behind and then received a summons.
I was bricking myself as I have never been to court either,so I phoned LPS and explained that we just couldn't afford to pay,not that we didn't want to pay,and they basically said I didn't need to go to court, but that the court case was just for them to formally make a claim for the outstanding amount.
I then made an arrangement to clear the debt on the understanding that if it was broken, then they would go back to court and force me to pay the debt, making me bankrupt if necessary:eek:
I stuck to the arrangement, which was tough, but got there in the end:T
    Good luck
  • contacted LPS, have a new arrangement in place and court action is dropped. Nothing like giving your a heart a wee jolt every time you get a brown envelope on the hall floor!
