Annoyed, frustrated, embarassed - Money Ideas?

Hi, tried to claim jobseekers backdated from when I left ASDA but a bloke has just rung up saying its unlikely, asking why I havent claimed, surely I should be congratulated for not going straight onto benefit? I have tried to cope without help and now I need some because I dont get paid until the end of the month. Yet I am being treat like a criminal for claiming / trying to claim.

£225 for my laptop, hopefully to my g'fs mum as she wants one for work, and I would rather sell to her then if something goes wrong with it I will be there to fix it.
