Is anyone else aiming to be MF before age 40?

With no OP I will be 44, so def before 40...probably before 30. Although in reality probably move and take on a bigger mortgage.0

I'm aiming to be MF for the first time before hitting 40, although I fully anticipate wanting a bigger place and ! More specifically, I aim to offset my entire mortgage value by age 38.
If I'd sorted myself out sooner and realised the value of overpayment I'd be aiming for a younger age to be MF but there we are... better to start at some point than never start at all.Debt free as of 01/06/13
MFW: Mortgage when started: £205,000 Mortgage 21/11/13 £202,608 Offset target 2014: £5088/£12000 Planned payoff date: August 2026 LTV: 86.3% Daily interest: £21.550 -
I'll technically be mortgage free by 40...however will only end up buying a bigger house before then so doubt ill see the extra cash so early. Only 26 at the moment so plenty time to go :-)0

I did this.
But driven by property values back when they were bubbling, not bursting.
In other words, I really respect people who are doing this now, when it takes real effort.0 -
I'm aiming to be 42 years old *fingers crossed* unless something dramatic happens 40 is too optimistic to pay off the mortgage!:)0

The younger we are all free of indebtedness to the banks the better! I'm really happy to see so many 20-somethings here already looking to overpay.
Remember, the earliest over payments have the biggest impact!0 -

Even more so considering the high house prices in recent years. I was lucky and got on the housing ladder in 1998 at age 22 & when house prices were in line with wages.0 -
Im 35 at the moment, and at current overpayment rate, im looking at being MF by 38, but im planning on making extra payments to bring it down to 37.0

I wish I had been aware of overpaying when we first got our mortgage when I was 27! We could have paid it off in a few years if we had buckled down and stopped our silly spending on total carp.:p0
