Just checking in to confirm I'm still here and no real updates. Everything is ticking along, savings are growing and I've started to make some initial progress on the home improvements front.

I've had a couple of months off the side gig so all refreshed for that kicking off again next month and boosting savings going forward.

Payday again. A small, very manageable balance remains on the interest free credit card and all being well should be fully cleared next payday. The loan I took out earlier this year is also ticking down and only 18 months to go on that.

I have made a couple of spends from savings over the past month - I've recently taken up a new sport and it's enjoyable enough that I'm sticking with it, so there are some startup costs in terms of buying equipment, clothing etc and there will soon be membership fees for joining a club.

My monthly budget will be re-worked to accommodate fees arising from the new sport once they become clearer (negligible for the moment).
  • Well, it's been a while. Just checking in with a brief update:
    • New sport going well, the improvement in my fitness is clear to see so it's been worthwhile even if I'm still hopeless!
    • I ended up paying an annual fee for the sport rather than an up-front cost, which came out of savings
    • The spending card's interest-free period is up in March so I've signed up for a new one and have a small final balance to pay off the previous one before I close the account.
    • Classic 2 is 50% paid for and will come out of the shed for summer in the next week or two
Nothing much further to report at the moment - I'll be undertaking a review of finances next month as outgoings change for the new financial year, and as part of that will be checking contract renewals for things like mobile phone, broadband etc.

    Hope everyone's well...
