Thank you all for popping in, I would have made a cake if I'd known to expect visitors :D I can't believe you read the whole thing PP, I'm afraid there's very little money saving going on and way too much dating trivia:o but I love running and would recommend it to anyone especially the cake lovers amongst us, my lovely man has just taken up running too and he's really enjoying it (apart from finding it hard going).

As for the retraining thing I saw this the other day and it's so true:

Don’t let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.”

    ~ Earl Nightingale

So today I have done the ironing, ran 5 1/2 miles and changed the beds, just the bathroom to do then I will get down to studying... NSD number 2:T:T!

Love the quote :D It's not so much fear of how long it will take to retrain, more that I can't decide what I want to do!! :o How did you decide?? Was it something you'd always fancied doing?? I've always worked in the Education sector in some shape or form but really don't want to go back to that if at all possible.

Btw, I'm hoping to relocate to Scotland in the future (fingers crossed!!) so that's another reason it's nice to read your diary. We have relatives in Ayrshire so mention of Largs & Millport made me smile :)

Oooh yes, Nardini's ~ it's not there anymore is it?? I remember taking my DDs when they were really small & buying them a knickerbocker glory each. Such a bad idea!! I had to put them in the bath as soon as we got back to MIL's as they were mockit!! :rotfl:

Yes, Nardini's is still there, that's where we were, there was one sundae that DS fancied was about £6.50 so he was told he could have a wee cone on the way out if he really wanted icecream - luckily he was happy enough to settle for hot chocolate:D. I think the Moorings next to the ferry is different now but not much else has changed so you can probably imagine the building the air hockey is in too... Wasn't going to Millport though on the ferries, bit further up - Dunoon...

PP, your relatives might be close to me...I decided to retrain in a more people focused field as I'd spent years with numbers and facts and it bored the life out of me:o. Still debating which course to take after the summer, only one offer so far and still to hear from three others... only two courses just two unis.

Have done all college work and a bit of extra reading today so all organised for once - makes a change:D

I thought it odd about Nardini's closing ~ that's my DH giving me duff information, lol!! Haven't been to Largs itself for a few years, more recently just passing through en route to get a ferry. Btw, Millport was mentioned early on in your diary ;)

It's funny that you want a more people focused career ~ that's exactly what I want to get away from!! :rotfl: Spent too long working with some not very nice clients.

    Relatives are in Irvine ;)

Could I have gone by hovercraft to Milliport from Largs? Went somewhere from somewhere :rotfl:.
