be careful when buying sd cards on ebay. The high number of fake cards being sold on it is incredible. Even Amazons marketplace is rife with them. You can usually get decewnt priced "frustration free packaged" directly from amazon for a good price, however if you do buy a memory card via ebay or amazon 3rd parties give it a check using H2testw (http://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/2008/09/02/h2testw-14-gold-standard-in-detecting-usb-counterfeit-drives/)
It cant detect if its genuine sandisk etc, but it can detect that it is a fully functioning card thats reporting the correct size.
Its very common for faulty 2gb or 4gb cards that should be destroyed to Leave the factory by the backdoor, and then be reprogrammed to report their size as 16gb / 32 gb etc. and sold on ebay and the likes for bargain basement prices.freebie creator, freebie hunter and freebie sharer.

Knowing the risk of Ebay, and that more are fake than genuine on there I bought a 32gb class 10 from Amazon. Except stupidly I wasn't paying attention and bought from a market place seller...
And yes its a fake, reads as less than 2gb and about class 2 speed using the above mentioned program. Now have a claim in with Amazon, the seller is ignoring me - I can see it getting complicated.
Meanwhile ordered another one being sure its directly from Amazon, not as cheap and has a delay in shipping, but a lot less likely to be hassle.
Oh why did I do it? how good are Amazon at resolving claims, never had to do one before?0
