Amazon also have third party sellers. Search Amazon for the book you're after and check where it says new & used. Some of the used books can actually be in good condition as well.0 -

Thanks for the help everyone
I'm one of these odd people, who want to clutter the house with books! I don't have a house yet, but when I do I plan on having a nice little bookcase with all my books
I'll look into all the suggestions2012-2013 Deposit target £2663.05/ £3876.74 :j

Support your local libraries, or we'll lose them!!!0 -

but it doesn;t stop with one bookcase - we have 5 large ones and 2 small which is why I get rid of a lot of books after reading now, just keep the ones I read over and over. Kindle is good for a clear out too especially of classics as they are free as out of copyright.0 -
My daughter is a poor student too. She has saved a fortune by using free textbooks on Google books. Hope that helps0

I usually go to either Amazon or Tescos (2 for £7), but the postage times from Amazon are very VERY poor (2-4 weeks as some of you may know), and the range that Tescos sell isn't the largest.
Anyone suggest anywhere slightly better? I know WHSmith do a BOGOHP offer, but that still ends up costing a lot more than other places
Funny you should say that about Amazon -- I've found them very fast recently, even using the free super saver delivery (which I almost always do). I ordered Operation Mincemeat as an x-mas present and it turned up the very next day (super-saver delivery). They've definitely improved over the last few years.NSD May 1/150 -
The past few times I've ordered books from them, it's taken 2-3 weeks
Although those on super saver delivery are usually faster
