Can I wash boot slippers in the washing-machine?

Just took mine off and they're stinky. They're knitted beige wool with a fluffy lining and rubber sole. I can't see a label on them unfortunately.

I would think so - try a gentle cycle on a fairly cool wash.

I washed my wool slippers on the wool setting with some jumpers, they came out fine, slightly lumpy but they soon flattened out.

  • All shoes/slippers and trainers go in the washer here, if you're worried slip them into an old pillow case.....will still wash but will make less of a rattle in the machine x

  • If they stink, you can't exactly NOT wash them, can you?

Gentle wash, if they're pale, sling some bleach in the drawer to kill bacteria.

I normally chuck my slippers in my usual 30 or 40 degree wash and they come out fine - have even been in the tumble dryer to dry when it's been really wet outside and they haven't suffered any ill effects so far!
