Hi,
Just a quick question?
Can you re-heat turkey?
We are having a late dinner this evening and having another Turkey roast with all the trimmings again. We have quite a bit of turkey left over.
But would like to know if turkey is supposed to be treated the same way as chicken and don't want to give my family any stomach problems lol?
many thanks!

Personally I would reheat it if it has been kept in the fridge, and as long as it was cooled and got into the fridge pretty quickly (didn't sit around at room temperature for a while or anything). I'd probably pour gravy over it and heat it in a casserole dish in the oven until absolutely piping, bubbling hot.
I have never got ill from reheated chicken!0 -
Thanks daisiegg for your reply.
yes,I definitely put it straight into the fridge for tonight's dinner.
So based on that and from what you have said we will be ok! Think I will try your method and put it in my casserole dish then the oven!
many thanks! x0 -
I slice any left over turkey when we are fed up of it and put it in bags in the freezer and use it for sandwiches0

No difference than any other meat. Better take it from the bones (it’s easier straight over and take less space in the fridge). And then ... well there are some recipes which are good for leftover meat. You could use it for a soup -Solyanka – difficult, you have to cook
. Or make soup- julienne (which is not exactly soup, it’s like cream of mushroom but not that liquid and you don’t boil it but bake at the oven). Or – look above – use it for sandwiches, salads, or steam to warm it up and treat it usual way. 0
