At 26p a jar, I am very tempted to try it.
I used to love uncle bens but at nearly £2 a jar, there is no chance!
If the Everyday Value one isn't any good, can anyone recommend a cheaper one please?

I use it and think it's fine.
Maybe not as good as Uncle Bens, but you can get 8 jars for a few pennies more.
Not too keen on the Asda value one it is a bit too sweet for me, and runny.0 -
I oftn by the non tesco branded sweet & sour sauce. The very cheap one that doesn't actually say Tesco on it iyswim!
It tastes fine but hasn't got much eg in it - that suits us though as I have a boy who doens't like the veg much so I can use this and have a whole heap of stir fry veg for those who want it!0 -
We really like the sainsburys basics one - great for using up leftover pork in a delicious way!0

Yes, I keep some in all the time when I can get it. it sells out really fast at my local.
I usually add a few bits of pineapple to it if I have them, but it's just fine on its own. I usually have UBens, it's not quite as good as that but passable. Mind at nearly £2 a jar their 'aving a laff!0 -
Yes i use it when i can get ahold of it sells out really fast here, its a bit starchier than scary price bens so i add veg and and a generous spoon of value pineapple pieces and its lovely great for turkey leftovers0

I use a really easy Scottish Slimmers recipe :
3tbsp vinegar
3tbsp granulated sweetener (swap for sugar?)
1tbsp tomato puree
1tbsp soy sauce
garlic to taste.
Mix together and microwave the lot for 1 minute.0 -

haven't tried the Tesco one but regularly buy the Sainsburys version, about the same price & it's absolutely fine. Happy New Year to all !0
