The Logo Game

Does anyone have this game from Drummond Park? I consider myself to be fairly smart and we tried playing this game today, but despite reading the (badly written I might add) instructions a dozen times, I do not understand the order in which to ask questions when playing with TWO players only? Anyone played this with two players?

  • I don't have this game but I have found the game instructions if this is any help.(Not sure if this is the same as what you have which came with your game)

I presume that these instructions will be the same for two people as well as up to six players.

There are three types of question cards in The Logo Board Game. Picture cards ask a question that relates to the picture on the card. The answers to Theme cards all have a common theme. Pot Luck cards feature general knowledge and logo questions. There are four questions on the back of each card and each question has a different color: purple, green, yellow, and red. If you answer a purple question correctly, you move your piece to the next purple space on the board. If you correctly answer a green question, move to the next green space on the board, etc. There are no dice to roll. If you answer incorrectly, the player to your left gets to answer. Be the first player to the winning zone and correctly answer two consecutive questions to win.

The Logo Board Game comes with six movers, 400 game cards, and a circular board. It is for two to six players. The game can also be played in teams.

Incidentally,me,my hubby and two daughters have played the Wordsearch board game by Drumond Park today.

We have never had such fun playing this game. It is highly recommended if you like board games!
  • My son got this game for christmas and he got it out last night for us to play it with him. I think he was just making the rules up as he went along. :D
  • Thanks for replies but not really what I am after. The game came with rules and instructions, but they seem aimed at larger groups of people rather than the minimum two players, hence my question. Additionally the 'end game' section with the winning zone is very unclear in the instructions when you actually play the game.

Searched all over the net and mostly keep finding re-cycled reviews, so either people aren't playing it right and just guessing or not actually playing it at all and re-gurgitating other's reviews?!

The annoying part it, most start of with the line 'this is easy to play' which I am sure it is when you understand the rules!! We played it anyway using our own interpretation, but that's kinda not the point.

So no-one else played this game then with less than a house full of people????

    Hi Southerndave,

I'm sorry my post was not much help to you regarding the instructions.

However, I have had a thought by maybe getting in touch with the manufacturers of this game. Drumond Park have a website and they have a contact page where you can email them to ask about any queries or problems you have. I have also found their telephone number >>01506 855577. It's worth a try. They are based in West Lothian.

Just to add; The Logo board game has a website too>>http://www.drumondpark.com/logo/index.php

    Hope this helps..
  • I guess you'd just take turns asking one another questions and you wouldn't be able to throw it over to the "other team" if the answer was not known, so the game would take much longer than with a team and wouldn't be as much fun.

In the middle....we just do it that you answer questions until you reach the winning zone, then on your next turn you hav eto answer a question of the asker's choice from the card. If you get it wrong, you wait until next time and try again.

They may not be the correct rules, but house rules rule here and it works for us :)

Teams really are better though :)

Hi all and thanks again for replies. Having left it for a bit, we went back to it last night and with the aid of some fine whisky it made more sense. The instructions as given are a bit ambiguous and can be read in a number of ways, but after some trial and error, it clicked on the third go.

So for anyone else. the way to play The Logo Game for Two Players:-

Set the board up and choose your playing pieces. Decide who going first. Ask the first question on the card (a Purple one) and if answered correctly, move to the first purple space. Keep on answering the questions in card order and moving to the matching colour for the correctly answered question. The first spaces on the board correspond with the card question colours in order, so easy to start.

From then on ask the questions in order on the card always starting at the top (purple) and assuming right answers, move to the corresponding colour on the board - this will not be in next-space order! So if you are on a green space when it's your turn again, you get asked the first question on the card (Purple) and if answered right, you move to the next purple space before attempting to answer the next question on the card.

This is the trick to the game as it means players leapfrog each other and is kind of against the way a normal board game works with players normally moving from one square to the next - forget that, move in order with correctly answered questions.

When you get near the end zone marked with the dots, answer your questions in order as usual. If your turn ends and you are on the end zone marked with dotted lines, move into the winning zone but leave your piece near where you entered the winning zone, say on green.

When its your turn again you must answer two questions in a row correctly, starting with the next colour from the one you came in on i.e. in this case yellow and then red (the next colours after green). Answer both right and you win. Get one wrong, and you stay where you are and its the other players turn again.

The exception is if you entered the winning zone on yellow or red, in which case to win you only need to answer ONE red question as they are harder.

Got there in the end and it proved to be fun even with only two. Often you find yourself streaking ahead on the board and then see your partner answer one or two questions right in succession and catch you up or go past!

Anyway, thanks again to all who offered advice and I hope this helps others who are playing this game with just two. I may well ask Drummond to rewrite the rules in a more user friendly and less vague manner.

    ENJOY LOGO!

We were playing this last night too. The instructions are complicated, particularly when it comes to the winning zone!

Anyway, what I was going to say is, as you can't give the other player a chance to answer if the person whos turn it is gets it wrong (because they are the person reading it out) they could pick a new card and ask them the corresonding coloured question from that.

I hope this makes sense and is what we done when someone accidentally read out the answer before passing it over.
