    Let the shop staff have at least one day off a year.

    Only shops open round here are the Asian owned convenience stores/newsagents found on random street corners, etc.

    I guess it's conceivably possible that you might find a small shop open, but the 'Christmas Day (Trading) Act 2004' prohibits large shops (over 280 sq m/3,000 sq ft) from opening on Christmas Day.

    Why not take a walk through the park or just enjoy sitting on your ärse, I am sure the poor staff of the shops that will be open stupidly early tomorrow will!

    My local BP/ M&S Simply Food is open today.

    Plenty open my way - although they are small ones.
    Personally I'm glad the larger ones are closed, it will give the small shops a chance to claim back a few pennies - mainly on milk, fags and such but still ....

    The butcher is open, the asian veg shop is open, the local off licence is open, the local poundshop (not the 99p, poundland, sams 99p etc, just a small local pound shop, saw two corner shops open..... and as littlestar1981 said plenty online.
