Jobseeking over the christmas period?

Hi all,

Just wondering do any of you will be jobseeking over the christmas period and new year?

What if you don't apply for Jobs like on christmas day and Boxing day? could Jobcentre sanction anyone who has not applyed for any Job in them days?

Well Yesturday (24/12/2012) I went on universal Jobmatch and there is no Jobs on at all to apply :(

Why would anyone need to apply Christmas day or Boxing day ? Isn't the criteria X number of jobs in a week ? There's five other days in the week.

There are new jobs going live on the net every day and I have applied for 3 already today plus chased up ones I have applied for over the last week. I have got my automated emails from sites like Reed, Totaljobs etc all having new jobs on there.

Just like any other day for me today.

They may not expect you to do it but it still is any other day in the world of job searching. They have never said not to look on bank holidays.

Take a break & do anything, anything at all.

It's not healthy sprending too much time virtual job seeking disconnected from real world, going over & over same routine.

As the DWP/Jobcentres will no doubt find out in due course, continuallly clicking away on internet is not solution to mass unemployment & not healthy if done too much.
