The Patrick Swayze clip is a corker isn't it! I was surprised so many had never seen it.
As for Prefab Sprout, I can never remember where they were from........Alberquerque wasn't it?

Apologies folks, going to have to call it a night if I didn't get to your question. To the person who asked about Sains BM - sorry I haven't had time to dig out your post and put it here - but page 1 of this thread gives a lot of info. If you use a nectar card to collect points anyway, it helps.
You need to spend at least £20. My understanding is that, if you're using a £2.50 nectar reward for example, you need to spend £22.50. However, if you are using BM coupons, these count as cash. (So you can have an end bill of £20.01, use a BM for £10 and pay £10.01 and get another BM. Or can have the final bill at £22.56, say, spend £2.50 off your Nectar card and use a BM coupon in the same shop and although your cash or debit card payment is less than £20, the BM counts (but the Nectar reward doesn't hence need to spend £22.50 (or £25.00 using Nectar reward of £5, with or without BM coupons etc.).
There's a cap of max £10 back.
However, unlike T and A you don't have to buy 8 items. You can buy one (non-own brand) item if it costs more than £20 and still have a BM straight back off the one item (e.g. a bottle of wine) - but remember competitor must not be more than £10 cheaper (or Sains will give you just a £10 coupon). Only vs A or vs T.
As Sains. says in its ads: "It's simple...".
Although I find it more difficult to do than the other price schemes. If an item on your 'BM' list isn't in stock, I'm then scrapping around trying to find another item that will bring me just over the £20 total whilst not exceeding the £10 limit back. It's not always easy, unless you make a full list and print the whole lot off, together with differences. My calculation skills are not what they were.
With A or T, you just have to find 8 items (well that's the simplified view, technically with A it's 8 different grocery items that appear on MSM) - I can count 1, 2, 3... to 8, but working out total shopping bill and difference is not as simple for me.
As to what to buy...
well:
a mix of
own brands items cheapest in S and N/A in A (so Avs 10% cheaper than S wouldn't be possible); and/or
branded items cheaper in A (if you're comparing with A) or T (if comparing with T); and/or
(for the more advanced) branded items that are cheaper in S and N/A at your chosen competitor.
What to buy - at the moment, probably best S vs A - buy things like those items that are 50p in A that are messing up the APG wombles for us no end.
Plus cheap Sains own brands and own brand whoopsies if need be to reach the £20 (I usually spend the BM on those - £10 of Sains own brands and whoopsies but brands cheapest at S and dearer elsewhere).
Fabulous Bakin Boys Choccy Cupcakes (6) - 75p Sains is an example of an item cheapest in S that should be N/A for A (check sada.com first though). Aero Mousses - cheaper in A. Sains Chicken Thighs and Drumsticks 660g - £1.50 (cheapest in S, doesn't affect BMatch as it's own brand). Young's Salmon Crumble 300g (vs A). Quorn Sausages 250g £2.20 S £1 A. (Also £2.20 T for Tv A folks.) Crisp n Dry Veg Oil 2L. Mazola Pure Corn Oil 1L £2.29 vs £1.50. Dettol AntiBac Multi Action Liquid Green Apple 1L S £2.39 A £1. You'll reach the £20 spend in no time and be able to spend the BM (max diff. of £10) on the rest of your shopping (which should be all cheaper in S. if just spending a £10 BM for example, or cheaper elsewhere by £10 if you're spending £20 on Sains prices on selected of its non-own brands that you decide to choose). You need to check the prices on sada.com on the day of your shop (in case A puts its price up overnight).
I have to go - way too late. See you later and goodnight everyone.0 -
