Savvybuyer wrote: »Three or so random unrelated things, probably to end tonight from me, although this might be useful to more people (each taking a third from out of this post):
As I mentioned earlier, the loose bananas, although they've risen in price over the years, are cheaper at 68p/kg in Sada as I write, and this can be 10% off if they are put Avs M (as M also 68p/kg). Except of course that unfortunately this doesn't apply to readers in NI. The next best thing, for NI readers, is to buy the Loose Bananas at T, where they have recently significantly increased in price - currently T 79p/kg - perhaps as filler item on a T v A comp.
In fact, I would urge those of you in NI - if the prices remain - to buy a Loose Banana on your T PPvs A shop. Especially if the automatic PP comes out and it can perhaps be shouted out that the Bananas are what are helping trigger the voucher, hopefully other customers around might start buying them as well.
This might encourage T to reduce the shelf-price on the bananas and then perh. we could all benefit more widely from the 'Morries effect'.
Those of us outside NI would benefit, as we would be given greater scope on the bananas and able to put them on either an Av T or an Av M and not be confined to having to do an Av M to get the fruit. In addition, NI people, you'd then benefit as you could buy Av T for 68p/kg less the 10%.:j As your best option at the moment, please consider using loose banana as fillers on your T PP shops (vs A). Many thanks - and this helps provide the healthier food we perhaps all need more.
The second, 'random' thing, was just a short thought: Sains BM: "You do the shopping. We do the maths." No, "I do the maths, I do the shopping and then I check your maths to make sure they are the same as mine." (also seems to put me more in control than the stores perhaps you might think):T
"We check the prices so you don't have to" (sounds like S and also T in similar vein), never continues ..." but if you do, you stand to make far greater savings on your shopping than if you leave it completely to us.":T
Thirdly, and perhaps following on from this, I've decided the prices in supermarkets are set tactically. Tactical prices calling for tactics in buying in order to match/ better them!!!:rotfl:
Night all and good luck with your price comparing!!
Oh savvy that's ace ! Your second random "we do the maths bit" etc. I edit their adverts like that too. Too funny:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Evening All
Was looking at the prices of Innocent smoothie 750ml. Will quite often buy Asda own version at £1 rather than Innocent as they are really pricey. However they appear to be on offer in Sains at Mo for £1.39 (750ml). Asda is 2 for £5. Very rarely see them at half price anymore. If you have an APG to burn and are buying Sally H, may be worth adding to your 8 items. The end is nigh0 -

Don't be ridiculous.
Your tone sounds rather familiar btw.0 -

I love thisCoupons = the only money we can legally print for ourselves:D
:j A coupon for a free item that is price glitched in Mr T's to be cheaper than Sada for an apg = HEAVEN :j
:money: total = £47.48 cc = 413 selling stuff = £23.00 Floor pennies = £5.790 -
I normally don't respond to obnoxious posters, but on this occasion I will.
Firstly Londinium,, if you had read my post properly, then you would have seen that I wasn't planning to go to Tesco.
I knew that it was highly likely that T. would have sold out of all the half price dog food so thought it was worth a try to get an APG on some from A.
Fortunately it worked, so with the10% extra, it worked out even cheaper than T. hence the :j:j
As for buying a load of crap, I fail to see how swede, apple, onion, milk, kidney beans and analgesics can be described as crap. Surely most of these items would be on many peoples shopping lists.
The 7p batter mix was probably the only item I wouldn't normally buy, but it wont go to waste.
So, Londinium, I am better off, as apart from doing my normal shop which I was going to A. for anyway, I got lots of dog food for my 5 dogs at a very cheap price!:D
Rant over, thankyou and goodnight.
Well said!:)0 -

fairclaire wrote: »Exactly why I did an online order!! our Ts don't stock the 24 pack dog food for a start. I ordered 4x12 packs I got 2 and 2x pedigree chum 12 packs as substitutes. I also ordered 4x 12 packs of cat food in jelly which they don't have in stock and got 4 x 12 packs of whiskas:). The shelves were cleared as soon as the offer started......always better to do an online order in that case because the subs are usually better!
Squigs got a good deal buying the dig food at As. They do stock the 24 packs and as she has said, they compare very nicely
Yes indeed. This is a good answer - if your T's don't stock a product that other Ts in the country do (or even if your T's does stock it), then (assuming it's avail. in A), buy it in a shop in A for net result of 10% cheaper than T's prices. If it's not sold by A, then, if you have an S nearby you, buy in S on a T comp. (NA As) total basket around £20 but would cost £10 in T - I did this with some Barratt Catherine Wheels that I couldn't find at all on tosco.com, but were showing, then, on price drop on MSM (and they compared on BM vs T lower price that I couldn't have gone into my local T's and bought). Plus my S is nearer than T.
This sort of thing can also help (for those outside NI, continuing apology again) with items that are on half price or better in M that obviously people in M have all rushed and bought. Even if you see an empty shelf, note the price label... and, no problem, pop over to A and buy in a comp Avs M (not only result, hopefully, 10% cheaper than M but also no problem finding in A where the product is on full price and shelves are stocked plenty).
Although if it's been OOS in M for more than 7 days, it won't be included as the price collection agency don't find it, APG T&Cs do say:
"2.2.1 Prices are taken from the shelf price label for each product in [M]; If any product is sold out, then we'll still use the shelf price label. ... "
Finally, also one of my earlier posts when I mentioned that my Sains. were very low or OOS on Shreddies 750g/Nestle Shredded Wheat 30s yesterday evening. (People buying in the wrong store again!!) Night - I am off now.0
