You're having a horrible time, as are the people you know around you. I can only hope this money-saving is providing some (albeit small comfort) respite from it all. My best wishes are with you and everything crossed hoping she pulls through.

yes, this thread is very grounding. forced myself out of the door this morning and it was lovely, glitch and rec hunting. certainly takes your mind off your current worries.

I start off worrying about eldest child and bf and his family. Then it leads me to worry about our lads and what will happen in their lives this year as its a big year for both. then I start worrying about OH and his health. Then I start worrying about my Dad and his health and how long we will have him. Then I worry about the cats and their health. Then I go from there worrying about people to worrying about things, stuff that needs doing to the house, how long more the cars will keep going .... By then I've worried myself almost over the edge so MSE is a great distraction, keeps my mind off the fate of things I really have no control over.
trying to take the Christmas tree down and it's a long job, finding it a very depressing job.

Now really is a good time to get out there! People are not buying so much just after the festivities so plenty to be had really.

I know it looks like I'm lucky, but I'm really not and have many many days where I get naff all. Just have to keep popping in stores and being persistent. Days like we had yesterday always come along. :)

Be prepared to spend a bit of time at it (assuming you have the time and I appreciate not every does) and a bit of fuel now and again. Another tip. Nights with big international footy matches are worth a look. Oh, and those days where you really don't want to set foot out the door as the weather is so awful.......brave it, they are often the nights of the best rewards!

Got to be in it to win it I suppose.
More effort needed on my part once I have made some sort of impression on this freezer.
