Shortfatscotsbloke i quoted u above as I cant thank you enough for the little summary post, Savvybuyer, I do hope u wont take offence, but if you could please post your wonderful workings out of apgs like SFSB above, I ask politely:)
Please don't take offence, I just think u spend so much time working stuff out and indeed it's all good stuff but I get lost reading it all and in the format it's in, so please if you could, I'd love it if you could list it like him, if no, that's fine too. I'm just asking politely you are of course entitled to decline my request.
Thank you for this - it's useful to get feedback, also whether some of the items said to be N/A at the competitors don't work (i.e. return a higher price for the competitor) and/or any items you think I'm comparing to a price at the rival that is too high.
Turning to your specific request, I used to have a spreadsheet that worked all this out for me but it's fallen into disuse as I don't have time to complete it anymore. The APGs in my 'long list' posts don't involve glitches, so the amount it works out at is simply paying 10% off the price given for the competitor. In the case of Tv whomever or Sv A / S v T, it's simply the same price as the competitor.
I'll look at how SFSB does it, although my details aren't generally copied from actual results got from the APG website and are often work-in-progress, being constantly updated as I write them out, in the hour or so after the list (incomplete) first appears.0 -
1 x Innocent Orange Juice Smooth (900ml) A £2.18 T £1.50.
3 x Innocent Tropical Juice (900ml) A £6.54 T £4.50.
Both A & T have 2 for £3.
Although the T total is £6 for 4 bottles.
It's comparing £8.72 v £6.00.Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -
I've just seen this picture on A's website
Gave me a little giggle so thought I would share.
I think the caption could read:
"Sir, can I ask why you are parked in the trolley bay?"
"Sorry, can't stop...Sally is glitching, the BOGOFs aren't showing and if I'm quick I can rinse and repeat three times before closing time"

I recently bought 20 Activia yoghurts on the '10 for £4' offer using 4 different flavours. The till was fine with the first 10 but had a paddy with the second ten. I assumed that this was the same deal. Sorry if I have misled anyone..
On a sad note, remember that tomorrow is the last day for the wonderful WW vouchers. On a brighter note, if you can buy two on each shop, you will get £1.98 off your shopping and they are great fillers v Tosco who don't stock them.:D0 -
Tried a JF Blond shampoo +conditioner shop earlier....0

An afterthought, following on from my exclusion of the Freddo 6s for 75p, I have decided that in general, regarding any item you might buy, and not specifically in relation to the Freddos, it is best adopting a default position of "that's too expensive" and therefore would save us more money by avoiding buying anything unless it crosses over, and cancels out, the default. The default should, I think, be especially applied even more to any item that is on 'half price' or other reduction to help counteract 'falling' for 'special' offers unless they really are special. I just find it works for me: everytime I see a half price (never mind something higher) I think "it's way too expensive".0
