Best haircut for thin hair

Hi, after having my thin hair (which is also quite damaged) long for years I now feel it could do with a good cut to make it look thicker and less damaged. I am wary of having it cut as its always been long but I can't cope with it anymore, it always looks a mess when its down and I am forever tying it back.
Any suggestions please?

Hi, I've got thin hair and I have mine shoulder length with lots of layers around the crown area. This seems to help.
I do use moose but not spray. The shampoo I use is Tresemme which seems to suit my hair.

I've got thin hair and I've found that a blunt cut makes it look fuller and healthier. Try cutting it to shoulders or even a chin-length bob.
To make it fuller and less damaged, try rubbing your scalp and hair with a mixture of rosemary oil and olive oil before a shampoo.0 -
My hairdressing friend suggests shorter hair, cut choppy, always parted on the side (at the front) going back to centre scalp, highlights & lowlights for depth.0

Pixie crop! My hair is very fine and thin and this is the only style for me. If it's long it just hangs there and 'pulls' my face down. The added bonus is you can get away with loads of volumising product - gels, waxes, putties, powder - you name it.0

Have you tried volumising/thickening products? Once you get used to no silicone the difference in condition and how it looks is amazing, I recommend Tigi Superstar. All power is from within and therefore under our control0

I have very fine hair & have found that getting loads of layers cut into my hair works really well. Over the years I have come to the conclusion that I can never have one length hair & that layers cut into long hair is the way to go.
You don't need to get your hair cut off or even use products if you see a good hairdresser. My hair is quite long however, I have plenty of choppy layers which help give the hair some volume & stop it looking flat. I particularly get quite short layers at the crown of my head. Having plenty of layers stops the hair being weighed down.
Also, pure argan oil is a natural way of feeding the hair & creating a nice shine without the need of silicone which is found in my hair products.0 -
